Unique opportunity to gain experience in this growing field of educational theater!
The Accokeek Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2010 Museum Theater Internship Program. This unique program provides intensive training in museum theater, a form of live performance used to educate and engage audiences at museums around the world. With the Foundation's natural and historical resources as inspiration and backdrop, interns will:
The internship will run Thursday-Sunday, June 3-July 31. Interns will work Thursday and Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Saturday OR Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
We are interested in college students (or recent graduates) who have performance experience and a passion for history. Playwriting experience is a plus. Interns will be paid a stipend of $1,000. Individual auditions will begin in February and continue until all positions have been filled.
Please note: We are located about 30 minutes south of Washington, DC and are NOT accessible by public transportation. We are not able to provide housing.
