Museum Theater Internship Program Summer 2008

Create and perform this form of educational theater used at museums, zoos and cultural sites around the world!

Stipends of $500 to $1000 paid to qualified candidates.

We are interested in college students or recent college graduates who have performance experience and a passion for history. Creativity, imagination and a sense of adventure are also important.

Interns will learn from museum theater professionals and historians as they:

  • Research, develop and perform 18th century characters at the National Colonial Farm, experiencing the living history of an 18th century tobacco farm;
  • Use a variety of theatrical forms and techniques to create performances that explore topics ranging from Native American culture, African American heritage, and colonial history to organic farming, ecology & the environment.
  • Interns work Fridays through Sundays, July 11 through August 24th. Course credit may be available through your institution.
